The Peoria Area Food Bank and Two Men and a Truck teamed up to send over 30,000 pounds of food and supplies to victims of Hurricane Dorian on Thursday, September 26th.

3 trucks were filled with fruits, vegetables, beverages, hygiene products, baby food, and other non-perishable items to be brought to the Convoy of Hope, that will bring the supplies to the Bahamas.

Warehouse Supervisor for the Peoria Area Food Bank Couri Thomas said he reached out to Two Men on a Truck after learning they were looking for donations.

“I am so overwhelmed at the effort and work that it’s going to take to get these supplies to their final destination. I’m really proud of it, and we’re all very proud of it at the company,” Thomas said.

Marketing coordinator for Two Men and a Truck Angela Miller said they were more than excited when the food bank reached out to them.

“We’re just very thankful to the Peoria area, and to the food bank, and to Two Men and a Truck to be able to have this opportunity to bless so many people, we’re just so thankful,” Miller said.

September is Hunger Action Month, and if you are interested in volunteering or donating to the Peoria Area Food Bank, you can find information on their website, or on Facebook.
