At PCCEO the health and safety of our students, staff, and community are our highest priorities, and we want to do our part to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with guidance from health and state officials we have taken necessary precautions to protect those we serve.
PCCEO/Community Action will be closed from 3/18/2020 to 4/30/2020 as we determine how to safely serve our customers and do our best to combat the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic.
PCCEO’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) will be providing information on how we will serve clients during this time. If you have a LIHEAP appointment, you will be contacted and given information on when to drop off the application and required documents.
The sign-up date for new LIHEAP appointments on April 2nd, 2020 has been canceled. We will be providing an update on our new process shortly. If you had an appointment scheduled and it was affected by our most recent circumstances, you will not lose your appointment. Updates will be posted on our social media pages and on our website.
PCCEO Head Start, Early Head Start and the Pre-School for All programs will follow the lead of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker who announced on Friday that all private and public schools across Illinois will close in hopes of quelling the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
PCCEO Head Start and Early Head Start will implement the following schedule:
All Head Start/Early Head Start and Pre-School for All centers will be closed from Monday, March 16th through April 30th, 2020.
PCCEO Head Start and Early Head Start have implemented elevated infection control measures allowing for more thorough and frequent sanitization and disinfection of our centers, classrooms, toys and play equipment. These elevated measures come as recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Peoria City/County Health Department in order to decrease the risk of the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our facilities.
Please know that we remain committed to the protection and safety of our staff, children, and families we serve. We will continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) updates and will communicate further based on the expert advice of government departments, public health authorities, and healthcare professionals.
We promise to keep you updated through this situation.
Thank You for your continued support of PCCEO and our programs.
